Obituary

Clarence Green, 103, of Skokie, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Beloved husband of Svetlana nee Simonovic, and to the late Henrietta Green nee Kaplan. Loving Father to Robert (Joan) Green and Paul (Lynn) Green. Beloved Grandfather to Jodi (Peter) Koutoupis, Courtney Martin, Alli (Barry) Schwartz, and Tori (Brett) Rheingruber. Loving Great Grandfather to Delilah and Isaiah Koutoupis, Claire and Charlotte Martin, and Mari Olivia Schwartz. Clarence experienced an extremely full and healthy life filled with love and commitment to others. He enjoyed and loved his family, friends, golf, life and his cross-word puzzles. Overcoming the long odds of his modest and humble beginnings, Clarence, along with his 2 brothers Gerald and Lawrence, founded Clear View Shade Co. in 1944, and the company provided prosperity for their 3 families for over 40 years. Clarence was a proud veteran of the Coast Guard in WW II and long- time member of the Jewish War Veterans. Chapel service, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. My memories growing up of Clarence Green are of a good person who cared deeply for his family and was a great neighbor. He was a friend of my parents and I remember him taking part in the fun, fund raising shows that were put on by the Jewish War Veterans, especially the one where all the guys wore grass skirts and danced to a Hawaiian song.

I am saddened by his passing and wish the best for Rob, Paul and their families. I hope that good memories of him will soon replace the grief that they feel.
